Spring and fall is a good time to control weeds with herbicides.

Ground ivy and Creeping Charlie are both common names of Glechoma hederacea

Here is an article on controlling ground ivy.

Both articles suggest of of herbicides with 2,4-D and/or tricholpyr. If it does not completely kill the weed this spring, try again in the early fall. Follow the label instructions for application rate and safety information.

Good luck
