Is it OK to plant a vegetable garden over a septic system drain field? Would it be advisable to have the soil tested?

It is not ok to plant edibles on a mound or drain field. Here is a link to info about landscaping septic systems. http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/landscaping/landscaping-septic-systems/ . If you would like some info about vegetable gardening let me know. It is always a good idea to test your soil when choosing a site for a vegetable garden. I can send you a link to info about that too if you would like.
