Box elder bugs are more of a nuisance than a pest. Fortunately, they don't bite people. However, they can find their way into homes. The easiest solution is to get rid of the Box elder trees that support the box elder bug population. They do also feed on other maples. Clean up any trash, wood or othe debris close to your home that would be attaractive to adults looking for a sheltered place to over winter. Finally seal up cracks and crevices that allow entry into your home. Caulking cracks and crevices can help keep the bugs out of your home. Many homeowners also utilize a remedy of spraying box elders with a mixture of laundry soap or dish detergent and water. This
