Wintering container fruit plants

Asked April 6, 2016, 8:20 AM EDT

I'd like to plant blueberries in a large container. The container is 20 inches across and very deep. Soil in the whole pot will make it difficult to move. Can it overwinter on my DECK, GARDEN SHED UNDER THE HOUSE, or GARAGE? Thanks so much Carokyn

Blueberries are very cold hardy but the roots will die if they become frozen during the winter months. The container will either have to be buried in the ground or wheeled into a garage. Bush type varieties are more tolerant of cold temperatures than the bush type.
