What is this plant?

What is this plant? Seems to thrive in moist shady soil, vining habit (though I've never let it get very big before weeding it out), I could be wrong but I believe it spreads aggressively by very deep underground runners. Thank you!

This looks like chameleon plant, Houttuynia cordata.
Chameleon plant is an ornamental groundcover that has the tendency to become invasive and needs to be controlled. This will require some effort on your part. To eradicate it, spray the foliage with an herbicide that contains glyphosate. The foliage of your desirable plants would need to be protected because glyphosate is a non-selective herbicide and will kill any plant that gets the chemical on its leaves. Whenever you see it coming up again, spray it. Eventually you should achieve control but it requires persistence. Otherwise handpulling is advisable. mh
