SHORELINE EROSION

Asked March 31, 2016, 2:01 PM EDT

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT SERIOUS SHORELINE EROSION? WE HAVE LAKE PROPERTY WITH A HUGE LOSS OF SHORELINE FROM STRONG WAVES EFFECTED BY SOUTH WINDS. OTHER THAN A BARRIER OF ROCKS IS THERE ANYTHING THAT WOULD BE EFFECTIVE?

Hi and thanks for contacting AaE!

A great place to start your research would be the Wright County DNR site.

Some shoreline work requires permits, and again the DNR would be the place to
inquire. They may have some grant money available if you and your neighbors have fairly extensive shoreline issues.

Here are some links that mention the kinds of plants that you should consider:

This is an important question, and I'm glad that you have asked. Please contact us again if you need further information.
