What's wrong with my fig?

Asked March 30, 2016, 9:25 PM EDT

Hi,

I have a potted fig tree (Black Genoa) which I purchased from a reputable nursery some time ago.

As you can see in the pics, some of the leaves on my tree have an unusual spots / markings on them- Is this Fig Mosaic Virus? Or just some sort of deficiency?

Thanks

Dwain,

It could be either a deficiency or virus. Can you send leaf samples to laboratory near you? Not sure where you are living? The lab could test for virus and/or deficiency. If no lab is nearby do a soil test and see if that could be the case. If it is virus the plants can still produce with healthy care so you would want to give them the right fertilizer and pH to thrive.
