Brassica relative?

This plant has white flowers and almost looked a little like fennel. It smells very brassica-like. Do you know what it might be, and is it edible? Thank you

This is hairy bittercress, a fast-infesting lawn weed. You can see the seed pods forming in your photo. When the pods mature, they explode open and you'll really have a problem next year. They are simple to pull and look so innocent, don't they?

Here's our website info about it: http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/hairy-bittercress
