Bamboo as mulch

I have cut a large stand of 30 foot bamboo .Is bamboo suitable to run thru a large shredder and use as mulch ?

We would not recommend this because bamboo contains silica, a very hard mineral which will dull your shredder considerably. We have never heard of bamboo being used for mulch, which makes us suspect that there may be other good reasons that it does make a satisfactory mulch.
