How do you control (get rid of) green moss in your lawn?

A lawn where moss is prevalent is one that usually stays wet,shady,has a low pH and weak competing turf. Correct as many as these symptoms as possible by pruning lower limbs on trees to allow more sunlight, add lime, improve any drainage problem,etc. At this time of year, mechanical removal and overseeding with a turf type tall fescue will lessen the amount of competing moss. Repeat the operation again in the fall.
