Broadleaf herbicides safe for Equine pasture use

Asked March 14, 2016, 3:32 PM EDT

I am a Howard County resident and I just re-seeded a small pasture for grazing by my horses. Is there a broadleaf herbicide such as a 2-4D/Dropp/Dicamba combination I can use in the pasture for broadleaf weed control that would be safe, knowing the horses will be grazing on it at some point? Intervals or persistence of the herbicide?

This is beyond what we do at the Home and Garden Information Center, but we'd refer yout to the U of Maryland Extension's Equine program. Here is their page on Pasture Management, and there is a tab for their personnel if you need further assistance.
