Strawberry Planting Help at Hillsboro High School

Asked March 12, 2016, 1:44 PM EST

The horticulture program at Hillsboro High School is planting 3,000 strawberry plants for the school district's nutrition services department. The 4" pots will be dispersed in May to students K thru 3 grade. "We" are short of help - are there any willing planters available during the next two weeks to help with this project? Thank you. Hi Donna

Thank you for your interest in Master Gardener (MG) volunteers. In general, we train MG volunteers to serve as community-based gardening educators. We are not able to provide volunteers to serve as a labor force for projects like your described. I am sorry that we cannot help your efforts.

We would love to consider any other future requests that involve sustainable gardening education e.g. tabling or group presentation.

Sincerely,

Weston
