tall cardinal and cosmos flowers

Asked March 8, 2016, 6:14 PM EST

I saw a cardinal flower last year that was 4-5 feet tall and planted seeds of cosmos that also turned out 5-6' tall! I can't find them on internet. Are there types that are known to grow tall? what are they called? Thank you

Look at our link on Cardinal flower. The plant can grow 2-4 feet. http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/cardinal-flower

Cosmos - There are several species such as Cosmos bipinnatus and Cosmos sulphereus and many cultivated varieties. There are ranges of heights which can also depend upon your soil conditions. Look at the attached link for more information. You can search for seed companies such as Parks, Burpees, Wildseed Farms, Prairie Nurseries, etc.
