Starting seeds inside
After reading much of the planting info, it seems like it is best to directly sow many seeds. Can you recommend a couple seeds to start inside that will be okay to transfer to my raised bed gardens? I have grow lights and a heating mat. In advance, thanks for your reply! P.s. Vegetable and/or flower seeds

Most plants do better if started prior to being put out in our garden because of our short growing season. Things like tomatoes absolutely need to be put out as transplants. Some seeds that germinate quickly like radishes, beans, peas, sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds, do better if directly sown. Here is a link to an article on seed starting that also contains several suggestions on what to start: http://www3.extension.umn.edu/county/stearns/county-horticulture-educator/article/starting-seeds-ind...
