Horse safe ant killer

Which fire ant treatments are safe for use on my horse pasture?

I would suggest using a fire ant bait product. I have attached two links for you to view. One talks about fire ant control the other lists various bait products. On the bait product list the first baits listed are those labeled for use in pastures grazed by livestock. Those are the ones that should be used in pastures where horses graze. Probably the most common baits you will find are Extinguish Plus or Amdro Pro. These are broadcast at a rate of 1.5 lb product per acre. Do not try and treat single mounds. A broadcast application will give you more uniform control.

I suggest waiting until April to use a broadcast fire ant bait product.
