Herbicide to control ground ivy

Asked March 5, 2016, 11:24 AM EST

In the fall I wrote and sent photo displaying how ground ivy is overtaking both my lawn, garden areas, and now on my patio. Pulling it out is an endless battle because there is too much throughout my large yard. An expert wrote back the chemical recommended to put down now in the spring. I have misplaced the chemical name that I should purchase. Will you please resend the chemical name and any other suggestions that may assist me beyonThank you

Apply a broadleaf weed killer containing Triclopyr or a combination product like Trimec. Read and follow the label directions. Most likely another application will be necessary. The second application should be applied in late summer-early fall. https://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG101%20Guide%20to%... vw
