Pink Stems on Philodendron

Asked February 8, 2016, 10:53 AM EST

The stems growing on my huge, variegated philodendron in my bathroom are starting to come out pink. The leaves coming off these stems are now pinkish with green and bronze colors. The plant is healthy with stems reaching at least 2+ feet and is quite bushy. Why the pink color of the new stems? Thank you.

We cannot say for sure why the leaves and stems are pink. It is possible it may be the new growth. Please send us photos of the whole plant, foliage, and stems so we can see what you may be dealing with.
