Lawn care

Asked February 7, 2016, 9:38 AM EST

I am worried with this unusual winter that I will have problem with my lawn this year(5 acres to cut). Should we do anything different? How / what should we do with treatments and fertilizing? PSU 68

I would handle your turf just as you have in previous years following fertilization advice of your soil test (at least one test every three years). Continue to mow at about three inches of blade height, and water only when necessary. The unusually mild winter will not be likely to have a dramatic effect on long term growth.
