I am looking to make my pasture thicker and make sure it is meeting the nutritional requirements of my horses. What kind of tests do I need done and where do I go?

The first step in a pasture renovation is to have a soil test completed. The list of labs is included in the link that follows. http://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_docs/programs/hgic/HGIC_Pubs/HG110a_SoilTestLabs%209_2...
After completing a soil test and having the results contact the local extension office and talk with the Nutrient Management Advisor to have them prepare recommendations for fertilizer type and amount needed to provide the needed nutrients. Type of pasture seed can vary, depending on your preferred mix, and most good seed stores will have a variety. Always make sure it has a seed test date for 2016.
If I can be of further help do not hesitate in contacting me directly.
