Both peat moss and cocopeat can be used in strawberry production, though strawberries prefer media that is porous and provides oxygen for the root system . The University of Arizona has done research in this area and found that strawberries in their production system grew best in a media that contained a mix of 50% perlite, 25% coconut coir and 25% peat.
