Rosemary plant

Asked January 9, 2016, 12:42 PM EST

What can I do to save my rosemary plant? The part, which we use on potatoes etc. has browned (see photo) after I brought the plant into the house for the winter about 35-45 days ago? It did fine for the first 3 to 4 weeks and now looks as is shown in the photo.

Your rosemary plant is dead. Growing rosemary indoors can be tricky and usually does not survive well indoors over the winter. It likes plenty of light, humidity, and a cool area away from warm drafts. Also, Over-watering and root rot is a common reason for foliar browning and leaf drop. Soil should be well drained and kept moist, not soggy.
