Identifying the plant

Asked January 7, 2016, 2:49 AM EST

While buying the plant, I did not ask the seller its scientific name. But it is an indoor plant and he told me that it grows a white coloured flower. Kindly help in identifying the plant.

This looks like Peace Lily, Spathiphyllum. It’s a great foliage plant for indoors, and it also produces lovely white flowers. It can do well in low-light situations, but prefers filtered light, such as through sheer curtains. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy. The main mistake people make with this plant is overwatering, and it can kill your plant. For more information, see: http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/plants/indoor/foliage/hgic1512.html
