Can I eat?

Asked January 2, 2016, 2:50 AM EST

I believe this to be an aloe Vera plant and use it on my skin without any problems. I am wondering if it is safe to eat the flesh?

Outside United States poisonous plants

I would not recommend eating the flesh, some of the sources I checked suggested there could cause abdominal cramping, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and red urine, though not due to blood.

Thank you for your reply Eric.

Do you know which type of aloe vera plant is edible?

I have not found any information to suggest you can eat any of the Alo vera plants. I would recommend avoiding consumption of all aloe plants.
