Amaryllis bulb

i have tied the growing leaves aside the flowering bulb into an upright position alongside the flowering stalk. Should I have left the leaves fall down. By tiring them up am I refusing growth to the flower.

Tying the leaves up temporarily while the plant is in flower should be ok. But if you are going to try to get it to flower again next year, untie it when it is done flowering and make sure the leaves get the most light possible to help store energy for next year.
