we found this black widow on a forklift has been sitting outside at our facility for a few months. We found it when we removed a tire to perform some repairs. It was still alive. What precautions can we take to make sure there are no others? I have the dead spider if you're interested in it.

Black widow spiders are not uncommon in Ohio. They are relatively secretive and are only encountered occasionally. There isn't much need to do anything about them other than leave them alone when you find one or dispatch the one that you do discover. Most of the time they live in places that are not easy to get to...in your case it was probably living behind the wheel of the forklift all summer. They are not aggressive and aren't out to find people to bite.
