Can goats eat sweet autumn clematis?

Asked November 18, 2015, 6:31 PM EST

I want to cut back my sweet autumn clematis, and it looks like something my two female Boer goats would like. Is it OK to give them the clippings? Thanks, Virginia

Clematis is a poisonous plant for goats, so please do not give them the clippings. If the plant is adjacent to where they are, rarely will they take a nibble and consume enough to harm them other than a tummy ache.

Thank you SO much. I'm very glad I checked! It's not close to them at all. I just like to give them 'clippings' whenever I can. Thanks again, Virginia
