My well has substantily declined in it's ability to recover . I believe that is attributed to encrustations. What acid is used to eliminate encrustations?

Oldham County Kentucky natural resources drinking water well water private wells

You must be in a deep limestone aquifer. That is the only aquifer type that suffers from that condition. Have you had it tested? There are a couple of other conditions that cause a similar effect. Sometimes it is equipment failure, especially pressure tank. Sometimes it is a drop in the watertable.

It is best not to introduce anything into the aquifer, until we know exactly what is the problem. A certified well service person should be contacted to do the testing to discover the problem. Then, a strategy can be developed to sole the problem.
