Asked October 31, 2015, 12:59 PM EDT

I planted iris' two years ago and they haven't bloomed since I planted them. The plants look healthy.

Hi, What kind of Iris are they? Bearded or Siberian? Are they in full sun? (At least six hours or more). Iris need full sun to bloom well. Are you fertilizing them? It is important not to overfertilize with too much nitrogen or you will have healthy growth but not get blooms.

Thanks, Amy Jo

I haven’t ever fertilized them and they are in partial shade which is interesting because I asked when they were being put in how much sun they needed. They are on the east side of the house so they get morning sun, but then nothing.

As far as what kind, I don’t know how to tell when they don’t have blooms on them.
