How can i make a new baptisia from the one i have. Do I use the seed pod or can I root a leaf. Or something else? Thank you!

Baptisia is easily propagated from seed which should be collected when the pods turn black in the summer. The seed should be sown then. They need a cold treatment, but when they are in the ground they naturally get that over the winter.

You can also divide baptisia. Do this in very early spring only. Be sure the roots are divided with a clean cut, using a sharp knife and then be sure to provide plenty for water when you plant the divisions.
