Genus and species

Asked October 27, 2015, 7:46 AM EDT

This plant was bought at a nursery and listed or advertised as a bonsi type tree. I was just curious if the care and pruning instructions since none were provided. This was a gift and I have no idea where they got it from. If you need more pictures or more specific details let me know. Thank you for your help.

The plant looks like Myrtus communis, common or true myrtle, a native of the northern Mediterranean. It is an evergreen in its native habitat, but in PA it is not hardy, and will need to brought indoors during the winter. The plant shears well. thus it is a common species used for bonsai.
