soft, bright red spiney balls on the tree in the Fall about 1" diameter
Don't know what kind of tree this is, looked all over the internet for hours trying to find it. Can you help? New Stanton, PA Mick
Westmoreland County Pennsylvania
It could be the Japanese Kousa Dogwood. These leave a red ball on a stem fruit that usually is picked over by birds. A very pretty ornamental.
picture of fruit is shown mid way down the page.
