Sawdust is the best mulch for blueberries, along with some peat. I have attached two articles on mulching blueberries, and sawdust ranks better in mulching and in promoting rhizome spread which helps your blueberries fill in.

It doesn't matter what kind of sawdust. From any kind of wood?

Any kind except Any kind except red maple or beech. Generally in this area you will find Douglas Fir or another local tree as the source of the sawdust. Sawdust is also cheaper than cedar chips.
