Small snake to be identified
I live in a garden apartment in Sandy Spring. On Saturday, Oct. 10, I found a small snake in my bathroom. I removed it safely and had little time for close examination but this is what I saw: size and shape: about 8"-10" long and about 1-1/2 times the width of a pencil color: sort of gray-brown patterns-one design above midline (head to tail on either side) and another pattern below the midline at one time his head appeared triangular but I understand this may occur when non-poisonous snakes move in a particular way I did not have the time to study it more than that as I was getting it into a cardboard box to move it from my apartment to the garden and it was eager to get off the tile floor and away from me. I checked a few website and it did not resemble any adult snakes.
We cannot definitively identify your snake from the information that you have sent. A good guess would be that it was an immature rat snake or possibly a garter snake.
