Control of Bermudagrass/wiregrass

Asked October 13, 2015, 3:14 PM EDT

I have bermudagrass in many areas of my lawn. I try pulling it up but it spreads faster than I can dig. Is there a chemical that will kill this weed without killing the tall fescue in my lawn?

Some people use glyphosate (active ingredient in RoundUp and other products) to spot treat for bermudagrass. Some people even apply glyphosate with a Qtip or paintbrush. You can try Bayer Advanced Bermuda grass control or fluazifop which is in Ornamec put out by Gordon's which are supposed to kill the Bermudagrass but not the fescue. Whatever product you select, follow directions carefully. vw
