I read somewhere online that there are plans available at the Ohio State University Ext. I can't seem to find them. Can you help? Thank you

Can you be more specific about the type of plans you are looking to find?

Thanks!

Oh, I am sorry. I am looking for plans to make a trap for asian beetles, the small ladybug like bugs that invade in the fall. Thank you.

Hi,

There are many methods of trapping insects. I have provided a few different sources two specific to OSU and two from elsewhere. Since I am not certain what insect you mean, I have done my best to provide items that may help.

Here is my first attempt - http://oardc.osu.edu/4375/Build-Your-Own-Ladybug-Trap-for-Less-Than-$10.htm

At OSU, I know Dr. Celeste Welty has provided information on traps for spotted winged Drosophila. Here is some info - http://entomology.osu.edu/welty/pdf/SWD_Ohio_handoutV8.pdf

If you are trapping lady beetles - Dr. Mary Gardner conducts a Lady Beetle Blitz..
If you look over their websites, you may find what you desire.

My other guess is that the Brown marmorated stink bug may be trying to find winter quarters. If that is the case, here is information on that.

I think you may want a bait trap. There are various types. Here is one source. http://mississippientomologicalmuseum.org.msstate.edu/collecting.preparation.methods/Baiting.htm#.Vi...

If these are not what you want, please let me know and I can try to find other traps.

Best regards,
