Can my outdoor rosemary plant be moved indoors?

Asked October 10, 2015, 4:34 PM EDT

I have a beautiful rosemary plant in my herb garden. I would like to bring it in for the winter, but I am not sure how best to transplant it into a pot. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Dig up the rosemary and preserve as much of the root system as you can. Choose a pot that is big enough to contain the roots but not very much bigger.
Rosemary can be difficult to keep inside.
They are full sun plants and also mediterranean and require moist but not wet soil. If your home is dry (low humidity) and most MN homes are it may need water twice a week. If their roots sit in water or soggy soil they will die.
