Should I prune my lavender plants now or wait until early spring? I don't want them to get leggy. Also I plan to have my Leland cypress trees pruned in November to control their growth. Is that also an acceptable time to prune holly bushes and spirea bushes?

It would be best to wait until early spring to prune your lavender. Pruning Leyland cypress, holly, spirea can be done as soon as they are fully dormant (after deciduous leaves have fallen) or in the winter or early spring. When in doubt about when to prune, do it in early spring before new growth. vw
