English Walnut vs Pecans

Asked October 6, 2015, 10:08 AM EDT

Hi guys.

Ive done some research and im still stuck on deciding to plant pecans or Walnuts?

Looks like English walnuts bear earlier and heavier than pecans. But pecans are less less intensive?
Which are more profitible?
Any advice on my decision?
Many thanks

Pecans would be my choice for Tennessee. I have never seen an English walnut (actually, a Carpathian walnut) tree without winter injury in Tennessee. Be sure to select shorter season pecan varieties. Avoid those commonly planted in Middle Georgia and sites further south.
