Honeysuckle tree?

Asked September 28, 2015, 9:09 PM EDT

This plant is a tree and supposedly it's a honeysuckle tree, but I have never heard of honeysuckle being anything other than a vine. And honeysuckle doesn't usually fruit red berries. Please let me know what you think it is.

Your honeysuckle could very well look like a tree. It could be an Amur honeysuckle. It is an invasive shrub that was introduced in the 50s into southern Ohio and has spread. It can reach 15 feet tall and can be as wide. Honeysuckles should not be planted in Ohio. Here is a link to an article about it: Amur Honeysuckle, Lonicera maackii
