Little yellow Cherri's & the vine up the tree

Asked September 23, 2015, 7:22 PM EDT

What is this growing on a bush? Is it a fruit and can you eat it? Also what is the vine growing up the side of the oak tree? Thank you so much I love this app.

The little yellow fruit looks like twoleaf nightshade, Solanum diphyllum, but they are not edible. The vine is Virginia Creeper, a native and aggressive growing vine. The berries are toxic to humans and the sap can be an irritant so wear gloves if you decide to remove it. Here's some info on Virginia Creeper: http://plants.usda.gov/plantguide/pdf/pg_paqu2.pdf.

Thank you- and have a great weekend!
