Goat heads on the rise!
Puncturevine/goat heads are one of the worst annuals that grow in urban areas. Technically, it is on the Nevada's noxious weed list, and the landowner is required to make attempts yearly to eradicate it.
Fortunately, it is an annual and can easily be removed and killed before it blooms. You also have the option of reporting properties that are not making attempts to control the noxious weeds to the Nevada Department of Agriculture by using this Noxious Weed Complaint Form.
I have also listed two other information sheets on puncturevine:
- Puncturevine – The Name Says It All
- Identification and Management of Puncturevine (Tribulus terrestris L.)
