Hi Master Gardner, I have about six willow trees that have had a problem for the past few months. Other willows in the neighborhood (near Langton Lake) don't seem to have the problem. Most of the leaves are off these trees now. The leaves got black or black spotted, then died and fell off. What do you think is the problem?

Ramsey County Minnesota

The leaves appear to have been affected by bacterial leaf spot or Marssonina leaf spot disease. These diseases have defoliated many willow trees this season.
