time to prune azaleas & lace bug update

Asked September 11, 2015, 5:45 PM EDT

I think azaleas are supposed to be pruned right after the blossoms die. If I were to prune them now, Sept. 11, would they still bloom in the spring? Are there any research updates on stopping the proliferation of lace bugs?

Is September too late to prune Azaleas?

Yes it is too late. They need a light prune right after they flower. If you prune them now you will lose some or all of the flowers.
