Hi, my Lapin Cherry tree, which I planted 1 year ago, had a healthy spring with blossoms, new leaves, and cherries. Then two branches died, the fruit shriveled and stayed on the tree, and the bark split and wept in spots. Is this gummosis, what should I do? Do I need to spray with anything in the spring? Thank you!

We agree this is probably gummosis, please check http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advi... for more information and how to avoid it in the future. There is no effective spray.
