Resource for Soil Temeratures

Asked September 6, 2015, 9:57 AM EDT

Sir/Ma'am, I live in Camden-Wyoming, DE, and I'd like to know if there's a simple resource available for determining soil temperatures. I've been reading up on such things as pre-emergent herbicide, and the recommendation is to apply when soil temps reach 52 deg. F. I assume there's a site one can go to, much like weather, for determining soil temps...is there such a thing? Thank you in advance.

Even though you can purchase a soil thermometer for less than $10, there is a website that may be helpful..

Another interesting website is the Chesapeake Bay Live Buoy readings. Interestingly enough, the water temperature of the Bay is very close to the soil temperature.
