What kind of pumpkin is this?
Good morning. My kids threw some of our parrot food out in the yard, and we now have a huge pumpkin patch. I'm hoping I can attach pictures to this, but we are trying to find out what kind of pumpkins they are; if they will change to orange (as there are some basketball size now) and if they are edible for pies. Any information you have would be highly appreciated. I am located in Rice, Texas.

It's very difficult to tell what variety of pumpkin you have and, to be honest, it is probably going to be genetically different from whatever pumpkin it came from. I would assume that it would turn some shade of orange or gold, probably in the next month or so. As for eating quality, it would be a complete guess, but all pumpkins should be EDIBLE, but some are much better than others.
Good luck. I hope this helps!
