Blueberry Bushes

Asked September 4, 2015, 12:29 PM EDT

I have 5 blueberry bushes and they are 5 year old plants. 4 of the bushes are in 30 gallon containers and are in an area where they get a good amount of sun. They are doing well. The 5th bush is in a 5 gallon container and is in an area where it doesn't get much sun. This bush all of a sudden has lost all of its leaves. Is it because it is in a smaller container or is it because it doesn't get much sun? Thank you

Blueberries tolerate shade, but do not tolerate reduced moisture. 30 gallon pots will allow a much larger root system and will be slower to dry out than a 5 gallon pot. It is also possible that the stress of being in a smaller pot made it susceptible to a disease problem. vw
