so many gray tree frogs
We seem to be a wash in gray tree frogs. There's one living in the gas grill, another living in the outdoor cupboard where we keep the trash bins, another on the front steps. And there are bunches more. Friends of mine have noticed frogs around their homes/apts in the Baltimore area. Is there some kind of irruption or is this normal and we just never noticed them before?
We have not had reports of exceptionally high frog populations, however we had a wet spring and last year had a wet fall, which may have led to high survival rates. Usually fluctuations in population are tied to weather.
Frogs are good predators of pests and insects, so we hope you are enjoying your good fortune while it lasts. They are fairly docile and are good for allowing children to pet them.
