Prince George's County Maryland weeds bamboo

It can take years to get rid of bamboo. Persistence is the key. Cut it all down. As soon as you make a cut, apply glyphosate (in RoundUp and other products) to the cut surface. As soon as you see the first baby bamboo leaf, either dig it up or apply glyphosate. If you allow it to grow at all, the root system will be strengthened and it will take longer to get rid of it. Cut bamboo can be given away on FreeCycle or by word of mouth. It is possible that the Prince George's county landfill will take it with yard waste. vw
