This invasive "weed tree" is called Tree-of-Heaven (Ailanthus altissima). Some people like the shade it provides; others consider it anything but heavenly. It suckers extensively. There is some evidence that it has allelopathic qualities - it produces "herbicide-like" chemical compounds that can inhibit the growth of certain other plants nearby - as a means to limit its competition from other plants.
